Lecture Performance (EN): Die Revolution des Croissants
With an exhibition project at the Welt Museum in Vienna in 2014 in mind, where Elisabeth Bakambamba Tambwe presented sculptures, videos, and performances under the title La Philosophie Banane, the artist wanted to find a similar idea for the title of this presentation for Donaufestival on the first of may 2022.
„As some people have diplomatically advised me not to use French, it is quite natural that I have chosen a title in good German for this presentation: Die Revolution des Croissants!“
From her uncompromising vantage point of a singular journey from Congo to Austria via France and guided by her work as an artist, Tambwe makes her way, trampling over the traps, while brandishing the slogan of an ultimate revolution: “LIBÉREZ LA CULTURE!”
