What is there to do with nothing? The piece begins from this near-nothing, this suspended moment where speech withdraws, where gesture hesitates at the edge of the void. To have nothing to say is not, however, a lack: it is already a position, a way of inhabiting the stage differently, in the sense that to exist, even before signifying, first requires being there. Faced with the constant injunction to produce meaning, to justify every presence through discourse, the performance chooses withdrawal. It exposes absence as form, and reminds us that nothingness is never pure void: it remains a way of being, an active worklessness rather than a negation.

By digging into this absence with humor, the performance questions our relationship to speech and to the usefulness of the artistic gesture, without ever collapsing into demonstration. It replays, in a minor and comic key, that ancient question: why is there something rather than nothing? Here, the question is reversed, why should there be something to say, rather than nothing? What remains once anecdote, message, and demonstration are stripped away? What remains is a bare presence, a duration, a body that persists without justification, and which, in spite of everything, manages to laugh at its own vacuity.
